Remembrance Sunday - Poppy Pebbles
Help us lay a cairn of stones on each grave
Dear Cubs and Parents
With all the excitement of the dragon eggs on Wed we completely forgot to hand out each cub a Pebble. After Remembrance Sunday this year we will be as usual visiting the graves of the Commonwealth Airmen who rest in the old graveyard of St Peters. It is our intention to lay a cairn of stones on each grave and around the war memorial.

If you have a large pebble to hand over the half term please could you help your cub design a poppy pebble. We’ve attached some pictures to start you off. If you can’t find a nice stone we will have our bag of pebbles with us down at the recreation ground on the first week back. Please don’t forget to pick one up.
We are currently waiting on the final details for the Remembrance Sunday parade 12th November. When you sign up to our group it is with the understanding that you will do your very best to attend both Remembrance and St Georges day. Remembrance is particularly pertinent to us as we have so many parents and leaders who are either currently serving or former members of the military. All beavers , cubs and scouts are asked to be in full uniform and attend the service in the church plus the parade down to the War Memorial for the act of Remembrance. Cubs , and any others who wish to, are asked to stay on a further 10 minutes or so to visit the graves detailed above
