28th April 2018 11:00am Commonwealth Airmen Memorial Dedication

Old St Peter's Church, Stockbridge, Hampshire

2018 marks the centenary of the end of the First World War. This plaque was commissioned from money raised by the Stockbridge Scout Group, specifically to honour the memory of the Commonwealth airmen that lost their lives while training to fly over the Stockbridge and Chattis Hill sky. It is mounted on the side of old St Peters Church, Stockbridge.

There was a formal, public service to dedicate the plaque to the airmen. The Right Reverend Jonathan Frost, the Bishop of Southampton, kindly agreed to lead the service of dedication on Saturday the 28th April 2018 at 11:00am.

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

We will remember them.
